The structure of magic: A book about language and therapy (I and II)

The structure of magic: A book about Language and Therapy (I and II)

If you truly want to master the use of Meta Model, learn them from the originators of NLP in their first published NLP books.  These books establish the distinctions between the linguistic elements of the meta model for language, GDD, TDS, some of which are dropped or misrepresented in other books.

A must have for all NLP Practitioners, successful communicators and therapists who want to bring change to their clients.

Using your brain for a change

Using your Brain for a Change

Do you want to know who is really driving the bus that is YOU? Bandler provided alternatives to the conventional wisdom and show you how to use submodalities to experience the life that you like to experience and pave the way for a better future.

This is one of the classic NLP books and serve as a fundation book to work with Submodalites.

Turtles all the way down – Prerequisites to personal genius

Turtles all the way down – Prerequisites to personal genius by Judith DeLozier and John Grinder

This is a must have for all NLP practitioners who want to really grasp New Code applications.

This book is the documentary, with added notes and stories, of John Grinder and Judith DeLozier’s five day seminar, Prerequisites To Personal Genius.  The participants were led through a series of demonstrations and exercises which enabled them to expand their perceptual filters and overcome limiting self-beliefs.

The authors challenge you to re-examine the structures of your mind and the ways that all parts can be integrated into an internal dance.  You will learn how the skills of genius are readily available for cultivating your own personal excellence in a way that is respectful of the power of the unconscious.

A Theory of Everything: An Integral Vision for Business, Politics, Science and Spirituality

I enjoy having a theory that covers everything, at least at a broad 50,000ft view, and one which also makes some sense right down to the microcosms that we live with. It is efficient to have a unifying theory, but it also makes sense. Having already studied Spiral Dynamics which for me makes sense of all the different theories of human behaviour, T.O.E. provides a wider view. Ken Wilber explains in a lot of detail how the All Quadrants, All Levels and eventually All Lines works as a model and it makes a lot of sense. He also describes many of the institutions, cultural movements and other things and shows how they have a vMeme view, rather than AQAL.

Ken Wilber’s book, A Theory of Everything will either give you the answers to how systems and concepts integrate, or it will give you more questions than what you started with. Either way, you will be better for it.

Influencing with Integrity: Management Skills for Communication and Negotiation

Influencing with Integrity is a great book to put some of what you may have learned in NLP into practice and use the skills and processes to truly influence those around you with integrity. The focus is worthy, and the subtle perspective is stll refreshing even though the book was written and first published in 1983.

For those who enjoy to read and yet learn with some visuals, this appeals as many concepts are laid out in a unique way, bringing more insight into the deeper aspects of some areas we may take for granted.

This book is not directed at any specific use (ie. parenting, business or selling), but can be useful for any of these areas, giving you a great grounding in what you are doing with NLP. The focus is on Management Skills for Communication and Negotiation as the title implies.

This book has good reviews by many authorities, including John Grinder and Richard Bandler, and has been cited by over 90 other authors in their books also.

The New Peopelmaking by Virginia Satir

The New Peopelmaking by Virginia Satir

I can not praise this wonderful book enough! Love, compassion, wisdom, insight and practical tools that everyone can use are all in this one book. Speaking as a step mother with three boys, age from 16 to 21, we, as a family have benefited greatly and continue to do so.

I personally have learned some impressive (little self praising is healthy, as it seems to me, our family is good at praising each other but not ourselves) skills and smooth over many situations. Speaking as a coach and therapist, Virginia has supplied us with more tools, so simple yet so effective. Thank you Virginia – your legacy lives on.
